CITY REPRESENTATIVE · DISTRICT 5
I promised to advocate for District 5 - and I went to work. Together, we've made progress on the priorities that matter to our community. Now, I'm ready to keep that progress moving forward.
A Letter from Ivan
Serving as your District 5 City Representative has been one of the greatest responsibilities of my life.
When I took office in January 2025, I made a commitment to listen, stand up for our neighborhoods, and fight for the priorities that affect our everyday lives. Since then, I have worked every day to turn that commitment into action and deliver results for District 5.
We have fought to move long-overdue projects forward. The Montwood Drive Extension went from a project our community had waited years for to completed design, acquired right-of-way, and construction underway. We have pushed for better streets, more street illumination, safer and more efficient traffic flow, the expansion of The Beast Urban Park, improvements to the Eastside Sports Complex, and continued investment in parks and neighborhoods throughout District 5.
But delivering for District 5 means more than building infrastructure. I have fought for stronger public safety, championed efforts to confront DWI, pushed for cleaner neighborhoods, expanded opportunities for our youth and seniors, supported our veterans and local businesses, and advocated for greater accountability, cost savings, and responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars at City Hall.
District 5 continues to grow, and I believe our investment and attention must grow with it. That means fighting to make sure District 5 has a voice at the table, receives its fair share of investment, and remains part of every conversation about the future of El Paso.
We have made real progress, but there is more work ahead. More streets need attention. Major infrastructure projects need to be completed. Traffic and public safety remain priorities. Our parks and neighborhoods need continued investment, and we must keep creating opportunities for families and businesses to succeed.
I am grateful to everyone who has worked alongside our office and continued to hold us accountable.
None of these accomplishments belong to one person. They are the result of residents speaking up, neighborhood leaders getting involved, community partners coming together, and dedicated City employees doing the work.
I have fought and will continue to fight for District 5, and I am proud of what we have delivered together.
There is still more work ahead. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve the community that raised me, shaped who I am, and that I am proud to call home.
– Ivan Niño
